As faithless once said... 'I can't get no sleep'..

Rydd I byth an chwarae gyda y season! which means I'll never play for England.

'Ek sal eenday vit Suidafrika speel' which means 'one day I'll play for South Africa... not sure his dad will be happy with that.

Jen says

Hi all, I thought I would add my bit to the blog (for a change). Thomas is sleeping so I have a free moment. We are doing fine, just getting used to the lack of sleep and generally life being very different. My mom is here which is a hugfe help, I think I would really be exhausted if she was not here. She's taken him for a couple of nights whilst Dan and I have been able to catch up on much needed sleep.

Anyway hope you are all well, thanks for all the good wishes that many of you have left on the blog. I'll keep pestering dan to keep the blog updates with pics.

Wednesday.....

We had a long noght last night. Tom took ages to get to sleep (1.5 hours!) but when we got him down he only woke once. He seems to be in a bit of a funny mood the last two days...i.e. taking longer to breastfeed and sleeping irregularly, but we will percevere. Martin popped in today to say hi.....photos coming soon

Tuesday

Apologies for any typos, i am typing this at 11:20pm and am tired...
Well its been a STEEP learning curve. The first day and night we were demand feeding and it has taken its toll on all three of us. It was really difficult, however we seem to have got through it now and we are doing a three hour feed routine which seems to be working well and allowing us to maximuse the time we can sleep. (We only are getting up 2 /3 times a night at the moment) but this may be a 'freak' of that last 2 nights so we can't count on anything. But so far so good. The midwife came today and said she thought we were doing really well and after we go in on Saturday to check Jen over then thats all the support we need and we won't see them again. They have been great. Rob has popped over from SA yesterday, Mandy and Dave were over and today Louise and Ian popped in. We web cammed Wales for my Mum and Dad to see Baby Tom today, they were well chuffed.
It is very hectic at the moment and we have to be very careful when people can come as often it gets tiring for Jen but thanks to everyone again for their support at this time. Anyway, so far so good, enjoy the pics

Tom 'latest' pics

Tom seems to have settled down fine at home here today, so far so good. We are looking forward to his first night, although this may be quite tricky. Notice 'Nando' our cat in the background.... he is showing that nothing phases him, even a baby. tom seems to be sleeping quite a lot and pretty content. Jen is breastfeeding him really well so far and he is very much excited about the rugby match between Wales and Australia tommorrow, although he reassures me that the Aussies will win by quite a few points unlike last week but Wales will still win the world cup. What a legend. He also said his tips for the Epsom Derby tommorrow are 1st Authorized 2nd Salford Mill 3rd Archipenko, finally the little chap predicted a record SA win against England...what a sports pundit.

A fairly good night

Jen and Tom have had a fairly good nights rest, Jen is still tired and the hospital is very, very warm. They have a room of thier own with shower etc but its a pretty warm day and the room has hot....I am going to pick them up later on today. There is quite a lot of 'admin' to do at the hopsital and he is having some final checks before leaving. We will get some nice pics of leaving the hosptial today and post them later on. Thanks to everyone for thier kind messages on the blog, by phone and via text. will keep you up to date here... Thanks again for your support, we know the coming weeks will not be easy so please be patient with us!
